Heaven And Hell: Getting Started
This is where things got started at Myspace, and I'm copying it in here....
Now I could take this point in time to start talking about an ongoing affair that involves kilts, g-strings, wet shirts, dancing to I'm Too Sexy For My Shirt, and four women yelling like banshees whilst stuffing cash into said g-strings.
But that'll wait.
Heaven And Hell. A bit of a loaded title, isn't it? It's the name of the book I'm working on. It seems entirely appropriate. It's set in Israel, the Holy Land. One of its themes is about the response of people to religion. History plays a part in it. And me being me, I'm mixing a little of heaven and hell into it. It's a spy thriller, and it's been a work in progress for a while.
What's it about? In two sentences: a group of terrorists try to start a war in the Middle East by striking at the heart of faith. A group of intelligence officers have to stop them. It's the worst case scenario brought to life, and I'm going to be running with it.
I've done a fair amount of research and writing. I've spoken with a seismologist, and picked up information from Oxford University for a segment to be set there. When I've got the time (sooner rather then later) I'll be dropping by a couple of embassies too. There are a few things I need to confirm, and other things I'll need to know.
Thus far, postings of my own work I've set up elsewhere have been well received. I've been posting elements of the prologue, writing these very sympathetic people coping with awful tragedy. And I'm far from done with the whole awful tragedy motif. I'm just saying. Don't say you weren't warned.
