Groundhog Day is nearly upon us, and as always some people will be desperately hoping for spring. In various places groundhogs will be rudely awoken early in the morning by idiots in top hats to put on a show of seeing or not seeing their shadows.

And here in Canada we'll keep getting more winter regardless of what Wiarton Willie has to say.

Beware Scots Bearing Haggis

 Robert Burns Day is nearly upon us, a time of whiskey and haggis parties for the Scottish, and so I have an image blog for the occasion. As for haggis itself? Look it up, but only on an empty stomach. Trust me.

I'm convinced the Scots tell outsiders that haggis is a national dish and they should try it only to see the look of disgust on their faces and fall about laughing.
