Well, at the moment, my book is in the hands of beta readers for editing and going over, and so that's keeping things going. The end of the line's in sight, so to speak, and it took long enough for Heaven & Hell to come to fruition. In the meantime, I think, I'd say it's a good time for another Six Sentence Sunday. This little bit is from early in the book, with my two main characters, Devon and Stryker meeting up for the first time in the book. Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

She turned, heading for the exit, and he followed, past the customs lines and into the Arrivals space. They weaved in and out of the crowd in silence, until they reached the exit. There was a light rain falling outside.
“What a surprise,” he remarked with a straight face. “Rain in London.”
“Go to hell, Stryker,” she told him, her lips curling into a smile.

I like the ad. It's hard to judge a whole book by six sentences but it sounds exciting. Why is Devon so crabby?

@Deb: thanks! One of the big things for me starting out was to establish a bantering relationship between Stryker and Devon. He doesn't take things as seriously as she does, and she's often doing that "will you shut up already" sort of response, but the two have this underlying respect.

I'm almost finished reading it. It's so good!! And, the cover is one of the things that makes a person buy a particular book. If the cover isn't up to par, then sometimes, neither is the book. Yours is definitely a winner...on all counts.

Nice excerpt! I'm clueless when it comes to cover art; I deal with words rather than actual images. This looks like it corresponds with the book contents and that's what we all want, isn't it?
