Six Sentence Sunday

Well, I'm taking on an idea I've seen from time to time. The most recent example was from Jennifer L. Armentrout, at her blog Ramblings And What Not. The idea is simple: take six sentences from your work in progress or something you're reading... and post them. And if you get so inclined to do so, try one of these yourself.

So, here are three such examples from Heaven & Hell.

“One down, one to go,” he softly remarked. “Vengeance is ours.”

“Damn you, Stryker, complimenting me after what I just said to you.”

These two people are definitely worth taking a bullet for.

She looked around at the placement of the explosives, thought of what it would be like when the explosion went off.

Then like the platform surrounding it, the building shattered, wiped off the face of the earth.

He nodded politely to the Leader, and took his leave, wondering what the fools in Damascus would think of being referred to as dogs.

  2. Great idea, William...These 6 sentences are from my WIP, Wildflower...

    1. Men. Sometimes I wonder what they’re really good for.

2."Well, apparently he really wasn’t going on business trips, after all."

    3. I got to see the fights I wanted to see, I drank beer and didn’t have to pay for it, and I didn’t have to entertain anyone but myself.

    4. I wasn’t sure if he believed me, or if he was just confused with the math, but he wrapped his arms around me, and pulled me closer to him.

    5. "Sure, you’re a little bit younger than my mom, but she’s not hot like you."

    6. "This feels wrong, but oh so right at the same time," she said, still kissing me.

William, it was very hard choosing just 6...

  8. @Karla: Devon sees Stryker in a suit at a party, and tells him he looks like an undertaker. He turns it around and says she looks gorgeous.

@Shelly: they're fairly random, scattered throughout the book.

@Mike: I'm working on it! I'm past third base and running for home. And that damned Yankees catcher is yelling for the left fielder to throw the ball home....
