They never take a hint.
They never go away.
They never do the universe a favour and stop wasting oxygen.
I refer, of course, to the vilest of the vile, the scum of
the earth, the dirtbags that are the internet spammers and scammers. They
attempt to fill our blog posts with endless amounts of spam, often in posts
about spam (I can guarantee this post will attract lots of spammers). They will
attempt to hawk payday loan sites, knock off Gucci bags, porn, shoes, insurance, sex
toys, and anything else what passes for their brains can come up with.
And then
there are their less common counterparts, the scammers, sometimes sending email
scam, sometimes getting past spam filters and getting a scam comment right into
a post. Such was the case with the following, which turned up in a photoblog I
follow. It was ridiculous enough in its approach that I copied and pasted it,
setting it aside to use for a scammer and spammer post. Despite the name in the
text, the name in the comment was Purva Pius.

And it’s me again. Our dimwitted scammer follows much of the
usual tell-tales of the typical scammer (homo
scammeritis irritatingus). Capitalized words like Everybody that don’t need
to be capitalized. Other words that should be capitalized that aren’t- I is
always capitalized if you know the language, and yet this waste of oxygen
halfwit only does it once. He, she, or it also lacks to capitalize the word
contact, which should be, since it’s at the beginning of a sentence. Oh, and of
course there’s all that muddled punctuation. I mean, “i am a happy woman today?”
Are you or aren’t you happy? Or does that depend on if you manage to bring in
someone dumb enough to buy this scam?
The scammer also brings in the religious side of things,
suggesting that her buddy the loan lender is a “GOD fearing man” (as if
capitalizing God makes it all the more holy). This is one of those usual
standard ploys by the scammers, often suggesting their benefactor (who doesn’t
exist) is a faithful or decent person and they’re trying to honour them through
good works (while trying to scam total strangers, but that last part they don’t
talk about.
I don’t know about you, but how many real loan lenders would
lend a quarter of a million dollars to a single mother with three kids, a “poor
situation”, and no real prospect of paying that back. Well, according to this “Sharon
Sim” (is that the sort of name you’d expect to see in Singapore), who is
writing this under the comment name Purva Pius, he’s an “honest and GOD fearing
man.”
Uh huh.
I looked around. Google that name, Purva Pius, and you’ll
get a whole lot of hits back about scammers, particularly with that exact same
email address. So our scamming scammer, whoever they are, has been at this for
a good long while.
Nice try, scamming scumbag (what, you don’t like being
insulted? Guess what? I don’t give a damn what you like). But most of us weren’t
born yesterday and see scammers like you for what you are. You’re a cheat, a
liar, and a dirtbag. You have no value in the world, aside from serving as a
warning to others and fodder for a blogger.
You’ll just have to try to scam someone else. I suggest trying this with a Trump supporter. They're really gullible.
They are hilarious. I never bother to save mine. The only one I mentioned was when they said the messages were besotted.
ReplyDeleteScammers should be put in front of a firing line. Repeatedly.
ReplyDeleteThey never give up. I got one the other day that was allegedly a "charitable donation."
ReplyDeleteThese people really are the scum of the earth and Trump is at the top of the pile and the most dangerous as so many people seem to think he'll be able to keep them safe and make them rich. Aargh!
ReplyDeleteSomething for nothing. We are a nation of the gullible and stupid people preyed on by the lazy and the avarice.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip and thehamish
@Mari: it has to work for them at some point, one out of a thousand people they send messages to or comment to.
ReplyDelete@Lorelei: I'd be all for that.
@Norma: oh boy!
@Lowell: they are the scum of the earth. If they were clinging to the edge of a cliff, I'd step on their fingers.
@Parsnip: unfortunately there's no shortage of the gullible.
I know, I've been scammed! They just never go away.
ReplyDeleteHope you had great holidays. Happy New Year!
They never do.
DeleteHappy New Year! I can safely say that I've never been scammed "electronically" but I have been blindly stolen from in the past. It's crazy scary how easy it's been for things to happen online, especially identity theft and credit card scams.
ReplyDeleteThey don't stop.
DeleteTo the jackass who keeps trying to post "i love to scam people and i love to make some fraud so please buy you free Viagra"- really, enough. First, you're a horrible writer. Second, I have no need of it. Third, I'm never going to publish your fucking spam. Do the world a favour, asshole: commit suicide.
