Speak Softly And Carry A Big Attack Ad

"Courtesy is as much a mark of a gentleman as courage."

"If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month."

"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the worst thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing."

"Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering." ~ President Theodore Roosevelt

"I don't know why I'm not connecting with the peasant voters. Is it my ultra-privileged background? Could it be my parking my fortune in off shore accounts? Is it my dining on caviar and foie gras? Is it the fact that I draw my Kleenex tissues out of a jewel encrusted case?" ~ Governor Mitt "Mittens" Romney

Yes, it's time for another election blog, and for those of you wondering who Jill Stein is, so am I! That's what we get for having third parties running in these things. Or fourth parties. Or fifth parties. I'm surprised Ralph "Life Of The Party" Nader isn't running yet again.

Anyway, the editorial cartoonists have been running amok as of late, drawing on the election campaign itself, the Olympics, and other sources for inspiration, as you'll see...

Governor Mittens, in his unending run at becoming President of the United States (note to Mittens' campaign staff: start brushing up on your resumes) has been busy putting his foot in his mouth as of late, particularly in a poorly thought out trip to Europe and the Middle East, where he's made a series of gaffes and blunders, annoying people left and right. In other words... just another day for Governor Mittens.

Governor Mittens is of course looking at vice presidential running mates/sacrificial goats he can blame it on when the campaign goes belly up. And he's also busy trying to retroactively retire from his old company, hide his money from the tax collector, and fruitlessly try to pass himself off as a man of the people. Give it up, Mittens. It just won't work.

Governor Mittens turned up at the Olympics, where he swiftly put his foot in his mouth (Phase One of the What Was I Thinking World Tour) with the locals in Britain...

Speaking as an outsider... I ask the question. Is this moron the best the GOP could come up with? He's starting to make Dubya look smart.

And so President Obama continues to work on the election campaign. He has the shaky economy, health care, and a GOP opposition bent on destroying him. Fortunately he also has a complete idiot to run against in November.

It's not that far off now, the election. It just seems that way. Maybe because the race to the 2012 election already started the day after the last Presidential election. At least it has entertainment value, right?

Well, in closing, maybe you're still undecided. Maybe you don't know who to cast your vote for. In which case, you'll have to wait a few years.

Under the terms of the constitution, this guy can't be President for a few years. Nice idea though, right?

  1. I'd rather have Dubya than Mittens. And yes, he is a dick!

If he's elected, we may end up at war with Great Britain....

  2. Oh man, it's about that time again. Which idiot do I vote for this year? I think we should turn elections into a version of the quiet game. The person who stays out of the media--and off of my TV screen--the most wins! :)

  3. "If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month." <--That's probably true.

  4. I don't want George W in there either...thank you...he's as trigger happy as his father was...but, just not as bright. You know, the lights are on, but no one's home...

As for Mittens, I don't think I want him either...

Shit, are there any good candidates? Oh wait...don't answer that...I'm sure they're aren't!

  5. Pres. Obama is off my vote list. ;-)
When our paycheck is now 30 percent less and the essentials are 30 percent more than when he was elected, and we were almost homeless (cause of the firings), I have to say that I am NOT better off with Pres. Obama.

As for Mittens... I am resigned to the inevitable. Shows that the GOP has more power than the ground-floor voters.

  6. Yikes, I don't think I better comment. Have a great day William!

  7. Mittens was the talk of the town when he was London - and not in a good way, as you've demonstrated above. What an idiot.

  8. Do you think Mittens is realted to Biden in anyway. Morons.

  9. @Norma: at least Dubya had a personality.

@EJ: Staying quiet isn't in the personality profile of a politico...

@Kelly: I really liked that quote!

@Beth: I have a problem with the notion that Mittens claims he can't recall bullying and humiliating incidents he incited decades ago. You do something like that, you damned well do remember it.

@Cyn and Eve: I do wonder when I post these if I end up inflaming personal political opinion...

    @Talli: he surely is!

    @Shelly: Second cousins twice removed.

  10. It seems like the election campaign has been going on forever but I don't want it to end if it means Romney is the new President.

  11. Great post! And I agree with Norma, who knows what Mittens would drag us into! And I wish there were more people running in the 3rd and 4th parties; it is time for change! Really, if these are the best candidates to run one of the most powerful countries in the world, then we are really in trouble! Maybe I should run...nah...I wouldn't want to deal with the morons that would be around me and all that pressure, too! We need a miracle!

  12. @Deb: that's the sentiment of quite a few people abroad...

@Lena: when I think of some of the predecessors who really showed true character and greatness, it's really sad. There hasn't been a great one since Ike.

  13. Um, could we skip November this year?

  14. I have little faith in my fellow US-Americans. I saw a poll recently where Americans gave a higher ranking to Romney than Obama in regard to the economy. What does that say about the US?

Also you must remember that the US ranks below #26 for public education among the world's countries.

I'm interested in this third party candidate... It would feel wonderful to have a US President that is not Democrat or Republican.

  15. I'm taking the same approach as most other Americans I know: my mind is made up; don't confuse me with the facts.

  16. Perhaps my memory has gotten as bad as my wife is often screaming about, but I can't recall another presidential election where both candidates seem to be doing their best to lose.
