A Pleasant Evening In The Aegean

Earlier today I finished a chapter in the ongoing work in progress, with an appropriate cliffhanger point: a terrorist pressing the button on his laptop to set off the Very Bad Thing (no, I'm not telling you). I thought I'd jump ahead a bit now. The last act of the book is set on the island of Andros, in the Aegean. It's a lifelong fascination with Greece that probably made me set the action there, and I know someone in Athens who's been a source of good information on the island (thanks, Selene!). And so I thought I'd gather some images, show you what the place is like... just so you can see for yourselves.

    I have a friend who grew up in Greece. I set parts of my first novel there. I always wanted to go there.

    The last of the pictures is the town of Batsi (at least it better be), the closest settlement to where I'm setting my faceoff, so to speak.

    Those are wonderful pictures!!! It makes me want to visit there, too!!!
    The Mediterranean is all soooo beautiful. My hubby's father is from Malta, and seeing some of these pictures reminds me of some of the pics from Malta that I've seen...I would love to go to that whole area some day...

    Some day! I have always wanted to go to the Aegean. Thank you for the pics to help remind me of my dreams! It always help to get my head back down and headed toward my goal.

    And just another reason for me to read your book when it is ready!

    Beautiful photo's.
    The first photo reminded me of the Main Beach view from my old home in Laguna Beach. I really miss that view !
    Let's hope "the very bad thing' doesn't damage these places !

    Loooove your photos! We spent three weeks in Greece this past summer. Your photos captured so much of what we experienced. Thank you for sharing. There's snow on the ground here in Northern Virginia, but, for a few delicious minutes, I was back in Greece.

    Absolutely beautiful pics

    I hope the "Very bad thing" Is some sort of ice cream dispensing bomb. Showering the unwary with unwanted sugary, calorie and cholestorel laden treats from the sky.

    A pity if the not so nice thing does damage to the landscape.

    It's such an incredibly beautiful part of the world, Selene. I've already written scenes earlier in the book, of course, but the bulk of the Aegean sequence is yet to come.
